      I’ve owned run a chain of preschools since 1994. During the early 2000s we were going gangbusters=7 locations & 28 employees.Then along came 2008 & the recession. Now it’s 2011 w 3 locations & 8 employees.

I’m mom nearing end of putting 3 thru college w/o help from their dad. I must continue to generate income…but I also feel burnt out.

Perhaps the preschools was chapter 1 & SpontaneousSmiley.com is chapter 2. But will chapter 2 generate enuf $ to sustain us? So far SponSmiley has generated very little $…but perhaps I am on the cusp w my 1st Children’s book due out w Random House March. AND my really great kids may go to grad school & still need mom’s support. Do I focus on biz plan for chap 1 or 2? Guidance would be SO helpful!

I have heard so much about this retreat and can’t wait to be able to attend. I’ve been a single mom since my daughters birth and have worked hard to make her the first priority and now my spouse as well. It’s hard to manage time and I need help really creating my plan and maping out my next steps. I know this would be an amazing experience and will gladly drive the 8 hours if I’m fortunate enough to be choosen!

In the last 6years my husband and I have 1) got married, 2) moved 6 times for his work, therefore buying 3 houses and selling 2, 3) had 2 children all while starting and restarting my Personal training business with every move. We are now back in our home town, bought what we hope is the last house for a while, and I am re-starting my fitness business again! It has been a bit of a struggle these last few months, but I will just keep plugging along. I had taken on a license for a fitness company that has not been a great experience, so now I am ready to do my own thing! I would love the chance to have some ‘me time’ all while learning to refocus on the business with family!

Phew – I am tired just reading all that you have accomplished in the last 6 years! You are right, it is time for you, and time to build your own business – no need to take on a license for a fitness company – be THE fitness company! We would love to have you!

I would love to be a part of the MomBiz Retreat in Chicago because as a mom of five and Mompreneur I don’t get the time I should to look after me. I would feel truly blessed if I was given the opportunity for the All Access pass to the Chicago MomBiz Retreat. I work at a regular full time day job and have been trying to start my own biz on the side. It has been a real struggle. I have so little time to put into my business. But I do it one baby step at a time. I know this retreat would give me the tools, support and extra push I need to get my dream moving. I know this because I am part of the MomBiz Academy and have already gained so much from being a part of it. This retreat would be dream come true!

Lisa, the Retreat is like the MomBizAcademy on steroids! I understand trying to balance full time work with starting a job – it’s hard… but the moment you can drop your full time job and have your passion be your “job”… priceless!

Well I have five kids and my business is ready to go to the next stage, but I think I will need the support of other women who are also going through the same process. I love to learn from others as well as share whatever I know. I was once a full-time at home mom and now I am going back into that direction and need to make some connections let alone a little break/pampering would be nice. I look forward to this opportunity.

I’ll admit it. I’m kind of a mess right now. I’ve been running a successful business as a freelance Graphic Designer for 13 years. During that time, I’ve gotten married and had three kids. I turned 40 this year, and call it a mid-life crisis if you like, the love is gone for me with my current business. Mommy needs a change, but after 13 years of being self-employed, I will never go back to working for someone else.

I’ve been working on a new business this year, inspired by my crazy life with my kids, and what I’ve done in my home to keep us organized. My business plan is just about complete and if I can raise the capital to get going, I plan to launch in the new year. Besides money, the other element I lack in kick-starting my new venture is TIME. Time dedicated to just working on the new business. There’s always something else…work, kids, housework, driving everyone all over hell’s half acre. And laundry. Did I mention the mountain of laundry?? You moms know what I’m talking about.

I’d love to spend some quality time with other like-minded women – and not to mention – enjoy some adult conversation and get some valuable tools I can use to make my new dream a reality.

Help! I’m drowning in my life right now! I need time away and some business advice. Save meeeee!

I want to win this all access pass because:
1- I want to finally meet Lara in person!
2- I have my own biz for 10 years but feel like I need a defribulator to pump it up- it’s getting rote.
3- I just became a rep for J Hilburn Men’s Clothes and could use the time away to focus on both businesses.
4- With 5 kids at home- I need a weekend away period. Next year consider somewhere warm Lara….Mexico, Costa Rica hmmm
Thx for this amazing opportunity! Mary

Mary – you will love meeting Lara in person (this is Shelagh writing at the moment)… I wish she lived closer to me too! It is so necessary to step back a bit and look at your business objectively – when we’re living in it every day it is hard to see the forest through the trees. 5 kids? Yes. You need a weekend away!! :)

Owning a very small business is really hard, way harder than I thought it would be. Though I love my business and love what it is I do, I do have many struggles.
I struggle with the Mom/wife/business owner balance.
I struggle living in a country where our nearest family is over 5000 miles away.
I struggle with the ‘business’ side of my business.
Oh the list could go on.

I would love to come to the retreat, for the support, advice and just to hang out with some like minded women.

“Me too”. That’s what I think when I hear your struggles. We understand, completely. People think owning your own business is such fun – work yourself, make your own hours, HA! It’s the hardest job out there. But being empowered to live your dream and your passion AND make money while doing it? It is possible. We’d love to meet you!

I would love to attend the retreat to start the year and my business off right. Spending quality time building my business and learning from other amazing mompreneurs would be invaluable. It so easy to get caught up in all of the ins and outs of daily life and motherhood that my business too often takes a back seat. I need some motivation and tips to get rid of the mommy guilt when I’m devoting time to my business. Getting some yoga and spa time would be an awesome bonus too!

    December 8, 2011 | 2:21 pm

I would love the opportunity to attend the All Access Pass Mom Biz Retreat. I have been in business for 5 years with the help of my four little ones at my feet.

If given the opportunity to attend the retreat it would help me decide the next 5 years! Being surrounded by other business professionals and the opportunity to learn how I can become a more viable business or just throw in the towel. As I didn’t start out with a business plan I don’t even now how to put one together to make that next 5 year decision. How to schedule my time, as I feel I work 7 days a week and listen to “but mommy its sunday can we play” and not feel the guilt of missing out on kids growing up. To figure how to target market and where put my marketing dollars because sometimes it feels like I just wasted $$$ for someone elses paper and ink, let alone to figure out if anyone saw my ads. And to find out if the plateau I am feeling I have hit is because I am the only employee, but figure out how do I expand to hire some staff.

This retreat would definitly help get me to the next step. And the thought of 2 nights of interupted sleep seems like a fairy tale opportunity. The ability to learn something viable for my business and the opportunity to say to my kids when I return “kids lets go to the park without mommys laptop” would be an awesome dream come true for me and them.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to enter.

I bet your story resonates with so many… sounds like this retreat may come at the perfect time for you! At our last retreat we had one woman come in with one business idea – and leave with a totally different business plan and business that is now up, running and successful! We also had another woman who ran a hugely successful multimillion dollar company realize that her job was not longer feeding her soul – so she walked away from it. You never know what will happen when you give yourself permission and the time to do some soul searching.
