Shelagh earned a Masters in Education (University of Toronto) with a focus on Curriculum, Learning and Teaching. This is complemented by courses in training and adult education. During her university career she built on her experiential education background with several years of Outdoor Education leadership positions and training.
After fifteen years in the classroom shaping young minds at several of the country’s most respected private schools, she decided it was time to shape her own mind and learn something new.
While founding and building Practicalmum.com – an online community parenting resource & blog, she became an associate at a national training company specializing in content creation, course development, social media strategy & implementation. A big part of her role is strategic facilitation & course delivery.
Noticing a need for such training in the female entrepreneur community, Shelagh launched shelaghcummins.com, a boutique firm specializing in training women in business and in content strategy solutions.
Shelagh delivers performance improvement solutions developed over 19 years as a coach, instructor, river-guide, teacher, and leadership program director. She has facilitated in classroom and field settings on two continents and online with a wealth of experience-based learning solutions
